We're delighted to announce that we have appointed Paul Dungworth, Dicky Eton, Sheila Ghelani and Niki Woods as Associate Artists. These four artists have been long time collaborators of ours, working on Kidnap, Desert Rain, 10 Backwards, Uncle Roy All Around You, Can You See Me Now?, Light Square, Danger Game and Day Of The Figurines between them. They have contributed immeasurably to our work and we're very happy to be continuing our relationship with them into the future.
Blast Theory is a partner in Participate, a 3 year research project to create a mass participation event about the environment using mobile devices. Alongside the BBC, British Telecom, Microsoft Research, University of Nottingham, University of Bath and Sciencescope, Blast Theory is working on designing a game to monitor player's environmental impacts.

Blast Theory is a member of the consortium for the European Integrated Project on Pervasive Gaming (IPerG), a three and a half year initiative researching the technical and design aspects of pervasive games. Blast Theory have been commissioned to create a major new interactive work for The Public, West Bromwich, UK. Flypad will be a permanent exhibit using augmented reality for up to twelve players.
The second stage of testing took place in West Bromwich between 23 - 25 January 2006 and comprised both user and technical testing. This included introduction and comprehension, flying and game comprehension, holds and mutations, game length and difficulty, to name but a few. Various members of the public, ranging from 9-10 year old school children, wheelchair users and mixed ages of adults took part.
Caitlin Newton Broad will present the work of Blast Theory to an Australia Council session on Media and Live Performance.

Ju Row Farr attended the CreativeLab on Concepting Pervasive Multi User Applications - a peer-to-peer creative cross disciplinary lab on concepting interactive narrative pervasive applications, as a participating expert.
During this intensive 5-day think tank, attendees formed teams of three to five members and developed concepts for pervasive narrative multi-user applications, considering challenges, limitations and advantages of the choice of genre.
The event was organised by sagasnet in co-operation with m-cult.
